About the Author

Tim Burns, M.A., is an educator and author whose background includes over forty years of experience as teacher, counselor, adolescent and family drug-treatment program director, and university instructor. He began his career as a high school teacher and has been a course instructor for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies Institute, University of New Mexico; the Division of Extended Studies, Adams State College, Alamosa, Colorado; and presently teaches part-time at Southwestern College, Santa Fe, New Mexico. He also served as program director, St. Vincent Hospital Family Recovery Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Over the years, Tim has provided professional development workshops and given presentations to over 2000 schools, agencies, organizations and conferences throughout the United States, as well as in over thirty countries, world-wide. Tim is the author of three previous books and several popular resource manuals and curricula.


Jim Brown, Ph.D., has spent his entire professional life quietly patrolling the frontiers of discovering and applying knowledge that involves consciousness and neuroscience. He recognized and seized the opportunities to become an early adopter in burgeoning fields such as biofeedback, then neurofeedback, plus theory and practices stemming from humanistic and transpersonal psychology, plus steeping himself in systems theory as a context for all his other fields of focus.
